Serving the Homeless and Disadvantaged in the Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati area.

Dear Friend,

Since that day in 1984, when Fairhaven Rescue Mission opened its doors in Covington, Kentucky, God has worked faithfully at the Mission to reclaim the lives of physically and spiritually destitute people.

Fairhaven Rescue Mission provides daily for those most vulnerable among us, first by meeting physical needs then by meeting spiritual needs.

Fairhaven fills a vital community need, and its doors are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Help is available without charge to any individual regardless of race, color, creed or social standing.

Fairhaven relies entirely on voluntary contributions. It has never sought nor received assistance from any government organization. The majority of our support comes from individuals, the balance from churches, businesses, and other community organizations. Please help us to help those who so desperately need our love and support. We cannot do it alone – but we can do it together.

Please use this letter as a reminder to keep us in your prayers.

Emergency Services

Our emergency services are available free of charge to all in need. We provide hot meals, grocery assistance, clothing and other vital services to men, women and families and overnight shelter, showers and laundry to men.

Providing safe shelter has always been a key part of Fairhaven’s efforts to help. During the past year nearly 6,000 nights of safe, clean lodging were provided to men who would otherwise have spent the night on the street.

There is a nightly chapel service for all the men who eat and/or stay with us.

Groceries are provided to women and clients with families 3 days a week at the mission. Our clients also receive vouchers for our Thrift Store where they can purchase needed clothing and household items.
Fairhaven’s Thrift Store receives thousands of pounds of new and used clothing which is processed, stored and given at the mission’s Thrift Store. Clients may receive vouchers for themselves or their families monthly.

Men's New Life Recovery Program

Recovery Program

Our Men’s New Life Recovery/Discipleship Program is for men who want to make a positive life change. The focus of the program is on recovery, rehabilitation and preparation for a return to productive living through the power and love of Jesus Christ.

Fairhaven’s New Life Program is intended to help men overcome problems, like drug and alcohol addiction, that have rendered them homeless, jobless and estranged from family, friends and society in general.

Those seeking admission to the New Life Program for men must show a sincere desire to better themselves. Once accepted, they will be at the mission for about one year in a Christ-centered, structured and goal-oriented environment designed to help give them a future that overshadows their past.

The New Life Program includes regular work assignments, life application Bible studies, living skills, personal care and wholesome recreation. All program men are required to seek mission approved employment and attend a local church of his choice.

Community Outreach

Fairhaven Rescue Mission serves the community by providing meals, clothing and shelter, and sharing hope through Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter meals provide many who would otherwise spend these days alone a special time of enjoyment and encouragement.

At Christmas many inner-city individuals and families are provided a Christmas food basket and gifts for everyone in their family.

Women’s Living Skills Classes

Fairhaven Rescue Mission provides women with Living Skills Classes and a Bible Study one day a week at the mission. The women have breakfast and lunch and enjoy a time of fellowship while learning various living skills as well as participating in life-application Bible studies. Fairhaven offers support services for women and families in many areas.

Thrift Store

Fairhaven Rescue Mission’s Thrift Store is located on the corner of Ninth Street and Philadelphia Street in Covington. The store receives small household appliances and clothing on a regular basis. Hundreds of items are available to our clients at no cost. Our clients receive vouchers from the mission and can shop for their needs and the needs of their families. The clients can receive vouchers on a monthly basis. The Thrift Store is opened each Wednesday-Friday and the third Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Donations can be dropped off during that time.

Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, eternally existing Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the virgin birth and absolute Deity of Jesus Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and that His shed blood is the only means for the remission of sins.

We believe that the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and that they are the supreme, final and only authority of faith and life.

We believe that man was created by God in God’s image; he sinned as recorded in Genesis, causing physical and spiritual death.

We believe sin entered into the world by Adam and as a result, the entire human race is born with a sinful nature and spiritually dead.

We believe that when a person receives by faith the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit regenerates that person into the family of God.

We believe in a future Heaven for the saved and that it is not obtained as the result of good works, but we believe in the maintenance of good works, and holy living as a result of salvation.

Stories of Change

The homeless and hurting depend on Fairhaven to meet their physical and spiritual needs … many have no one else. They come here looking for a helping hand and a loving heart – someone to care. I hope these words of appreciation from our clients will bless you.

“If it was not for Fairhaven Rescue Mission, me and my kids would not have food for Christmas and if it wasn’t for the mission Thrift Store we would not have clothes. We are thankful for all the people who help families every year. God Bless to All.”

“Thank you for everything you provide for us. A lot of people don’t care about others but I am glad you take time out to help people like myself. I am grateful for everything you do. God Bless. Thank you.”

“A gracious thank you to those of you who think of us at Fairhaven. I have only been coming to the mission for about a month, but the feeling of family here has really touched my heart. God bless all of you and thank you.”

“I appreciate the mission because it feels real nice to have a place that I can fit in and not be judged or ridiculed. I have no family and here I really feel wanted and like I belong.”

“I just want to say thank you for all the help we receive throughout the year. Thanks for letting us come to Fairhaven and learn and study the Bible. I really appreciate the Thrift Store in these troubled times. We need all the help we can get. Thanks for being patient with us. I look forward to another year with God and your blessings.”

“Fairhaven has been a very special place for me, especially in my hour of need. I wish to thank anyone connected with helping me as well as helping others. We are all hurting at one time or another. The holidays are coming and of course the mission will make sure that it is a joyous time. May God bless and keep those who help and donate to the mission. GOD REALLY IS LOVE.”
